ABOUT WILLIAM BODE

A permaculture designer turned graphic designer, grounded in decades of hands-on ecological work.

I’m William Bode, an American graphic designer based in Switzerland — and a permaculture designer at heart before I was ever a designer by trade. My passion lies in crafting design solutions that tell your brand’s story and connect with your audience, informed by decades of real, hands-on work in permaculture, natural building, and land stewardship, not just design trend.

For over a decade, I’ve honed my skills in logos, branding, and visual content, holding a BSc in EcoSocial Design from Gaia University alongside two Permaculture Design Course (PDC) certifications. I’ve since co-taught two full permaculture courses myself, one in Auroville, India, and one in Lincoln, Vermont, passing on the same principles I bring into every branding project.

That hands-on background runs deep: I taught a Clay Oven course for over five years at the natural building school Yestermorrow in Waitsfield, Vermont, while taking courses there myself in timberframing, wastewater system design, and hempcrete construction. I’ve also worked in communities across the globe, building ovens, teaching sourdough baking, and helping with farming, gardening, cheese making, and animal husbandry.

Whether you’re a startup seeking a brand identity or an established company looking to refresh your image, I bring that same grounded, hands-on approach to every project. Let’s collaborate and bring your brand’s story to life.
