FARM BRANDING - VALLEY CLAYPLAIN FOREST FARM

Farm branding that creates cohesive brand experiences across every touchpoint.

Valley Clayplain Forest Farm approached me with a unique farm branding challenge: create a logo that captures their essence — modern yet deeply rooted in sustainable practices. The solution was a captivating woodblock logo design, blending barn and forest into one mark. A single, majestic tree forms the roof, while smaller trees seamlessly fill the structure below. This minimalist, abstract design, reminiscent of a traditional woodblock print, evokes a powerful sense of harmony between nature and modern sophistication — a sustainable brand identity built to grow with the farm itself.

That same visual language later extended into the farm’s product line — see the product label design created for their oxymel and elderberry syrup. See the finished identity in its natural home at Valley Clayplain Forest Farm.

"We are absolutely thrilled with the job Will Bode did crafting two logos and labels for two new products! With very little prompting, he created an aesthetic that matches our brand identity. He was responsive to our feedback and provided us with knowledgeable suggestions to improve the overall design. We’re grateful to have worked with such a talented designer."

Farm Branding: Common Questions

What's included in a farm branding project?

A finished logo package with every file format and variation needed — mark, horizontal, and vertical lockups, plus color, black, white, and inverse versions for signage, packaging, and print.

I start by researching what actually makes the business distinct — for Valley Clayplain, that meant finding a way to blend barn and forest — then sketch several directions by hand before refining the strongest concept into a finished vector mark.

Yes — Valley Clayplain’s identity later grew into product label design for their oxymel and elderberry syrup, carrying the same visual language established in the original logo.
