HOLISTIC PRACTITIONER BRANDING - NIRMANA RÉFLEXOLOGIE
Holistic practitioner branding built by connecting deeper meaning with visual form.
For Nirmana Réflexologie, a new Swiss reflexology practice, this holistic practitioner branding project started before the business even had a name. The client had originally wanted to name the practice after his son, but a few real issues with that direction led to a different approach — brand naming became part of the project itself, and “Nirmana” was the result.
The client’s first instinct for the logo was a foot — the default symbol nearly every reflexology practice reaches for. I made the case for something that would actually stand out: a serene blue-and-white shell, its spiral echoing the universal spiral shape used in reflexology itself, while carrying a deeper layer of meaning — the sea, motherhood, and a fingerprint, folded into one mark. It solved two problems at once: real differentiation in a market full of foot logos, and a symbol substantial enough to build an entire reflexology branding system around.
From there, the project grew into a full identity: business cards, a printed pamphlet, and a complete website — including copywriting, and a photoshoot at the practitioner’s own studio, capturing the space and his hands at work during a real session. I continue to host and maintain the site.
Holistic practitioner branding like this is one part of the branding, web design, and naming work I offer. See the finished identity at Nirmana Réflexologie.

Questions About This Project
Do you help name a business, not just design its logo?
Sometimes, yes — Nirmana Réflexologie didn’t have its name yet when this project started, and brand naming became part of the process alongside the logo itself.
How do you design a logo for a crowded, symbol-heavy industry?
By avoiding the obvious first choice. Nearly every reflexology practice uses a foot — finding a symbol that speaks to the practice on a deeper level, like the spiral shell here, is what actually makes a brand stand out. The spiral echoes reflexology’s own foundational shape, the sea evokes origin and healing as a return to center, and the shell’s form doubles as a fingerprint — a nod to the technique itself.
Does a branding project ever include photography and copywriting?
It can — this project included a full photoshoot at the practitioner’s studio and complete website copywriting, alongside the logo, business card, and pamphlet.
